On September 4, 2024, the Higher Education Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir, officiated the POLYCC 2024 Nexus Industry Programme (INDex POLYCC 2024) at Ungku Omar Polytechnic. In his address, Dr. Zambry highlighted the importance of strengthening the synergy between industries and institutions of higher learning (IPT), extending this collaborative approach to polytechnics and community colleges (POLYCC) as a key measure to bolster the country’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector.
During the same ceremony, 45 industry leaders were awarded the CEO@POLYCC Certificate of Appointment. Our Managing Director, YBhg. Datuk Lai Kok Fai, was present as the appointed CEO@POLYCC for Polyteknik Ibrahim Sultan (PIS).
In his speech, the Director-General of the Polytechnic Education and Community College Department (JPPKK), Datuk Dr. Mohd Zahari Ismail, noted that polytechnic graduates achieved a marketability rate of 97.1% last year, and over 30,000 new students were recently enrolled in polytechnics.
